What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and behaviour.
A talk therapy, CBT can help you learn how to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that might have a negative influence on your behaviour and emotions. CBT is proven to help with low mood, anxiety, anger, stress, phobias, poor self esteem, negative outlook and promotes positive mental health.
CBT can be a challenging treatment. You must feel ready to actively change your thoughts and behaviour for it to be successful. It isn’t a quick fix. It takes time and you have to work at it.
The aim of this type of therapy is to teach you to apply the skills you have learnt during treatment to your daily life.
